Accessibility
Accessibility statement
Accessible by default is one of the things we believe in, so we hold our own website to the same standard we build to for clients.
This statement applies to the Barking Brand Studio website. It was last reviewed in July 2026.
Our standard
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In practical terms, that means we have built it so that:
- Text and background colours meet AA contrast requirements, including the two oranges in our own brand palette, which exist specifically so that small orange text and buttons stay readable.
- Every page can be navigated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip to content link.
- Headings, landmarks and labels are structured so screen readers can move through pages predictably.
- Text can be resized up to 200 percent without content breaking or overlapping.
- Animations are subtle and are switched off entirely for anyone with a reduced motion preference set.
- Forms have visible labels on every field, not placeholder text that disappears as you type.
Known limitations
We would rather be upfront about the gaps than pretend there are none:
- Some imagery on the site is currently illustrative placeholder artwork while we collect real photography of local businesses. As real photos are added, each will carry a proper text description.
- Booking through the site uses Calendly, a third party service. We have chosen it partly for its accessibility support, but we cannot control every aspect of a third party page.
- The contact form is delivered by Formspree, another third party service, and the same caveat applies.
Tell us if something gets in your way
If any part of this website is difficult for you to use, we want to know, and we will fix what we can. Email hello@barkingbrandstudio.co.uk and tell us what happened and what you were trying to do. You will get a reply from a real local person, not a ticket queue.
Privacy
This website does not collect or store personal data beyond what you choose to send us through the contact form, which is delivered to our email. If we add analytics or any other form of data collection in future, we will publish a privacy policy at that point.
